In the midst of another depression era I see many things happening to the world we once knew. The way things were going it was inevitable. Now that the milk is spilled and so many are affected by it we might as well do our best to lapp it up and keep from being depressed.
Keeping our spirits up isn't easy these days. Families have lost their homes, their jobs, their sense of security. The Middle class is extinct, the Upper Middle class is a long way from their comfort zone, and the very Wealthy who have survived this crisis are hopefully learning the art of giving back.
So as we travel through this grey area in time I've decided it would be quite appropriate to create the next era of "DepressionArt"
It includes Decorative Accessories, Jewelry, Clothing, Shoes, Socks, Linens,
Arts, Crafts, Collectibles, Dolls, Games, etc. Eccentric, not really, Eclectic, maybe.
Collectible, most definately.
Creativity with a renewed spirit in the hopes of nurturing a positive frame of mind for the common good of humanity and remembering "our best life, our best world".
Take a look around for those "things" that are accumulating dust that you just don't want to part with yet and/or create a Depression Piece of Art. It's up to us to try and revive our economy, our own wealth, our spirit.
For all who are working their butts off just trying to survive, for all who are unemployed, or homeless, remember... this to shall pass, and
how much is Depression Glass worth these days? More than most dishes!
Jade-ite is still holding it's value as are many of the milk glass era containers.
